Jason Kelce Jokes About Beating Up His Daughter Wyatt’s Pre-School Crush

Written by on May 15, 2024

Jason Kelce was in full papa bear mode on Wednesday’s episode of his podcast, joking about his eldest daughter’s first crush.

The Philadelphia Eagles alum, who recently signed on as a sportscaster for ESPN, opened up about the heartwarming and humorous experience of sending 4-year-old Wyatt and 3-year-old Elliotte off to pre-school on New Heights presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

“It’s fun listening to your kids talk about what they did for their day, who they’re meeting at their little classes,” he gushed.

“Wyatt’s got a crush on one of the boys,” he added, keeping the child’s name under wraps. “You can just tell in the way she talks about him.”

Then, he joked, “So I’m ready to beat the f**k out of him.”

The joke sent Jason’s brother and co-host, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, into a fit of hysterics. The proud uncle also offered some advice of his own.

“Just go after the dad,” he suggested. “Just be like, ‘Calm your kid down. He doesn’t need to be this cool. He’s only in pre-school.'”

Jason doubled down on the gag, humorously yelling, “I know how these f**kers think when they’re five! I know! I know exactly what’s going through his mind!”

In all seriousness, the 36-year-old former athlete said that Wyatt is receiving “rave reviews” at her school. “So obviously she’s taking after Kylie very well.”

Jason shares three daughters with his wife of six years, Kylie Kelce. In addition to Wyatt and Ellie, they are also parents to 1-year-old Bennett

“The same teacher that we have for Wyatt and Elliotte was also the teacher at that pre-school when Kylie was growing up, and you can just tell how amazing she is and just great at her job,” he added. “It’s awesome to see, and it’s really cool to hear your kids experiencing things on their own and then come back and share them with you.”

Jason was recording this week’s episode of New Heights from New York City, where he attended Disney’s Upfront presentation as part of his new role with ESPN. He made quite the entrance at the event by sweeping Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson off her feet in a huge bear hug on stage.

He was also asked about the emotional end of his celebrated football career earlier this year.

“It all hits you at once,” he said, per Deadline. “You almost remember the adversity more than you do success. A lot of emotions get baked into it. But I look forward to starting the next chapter of my career.”

Meanwhile, Travis was reporting in from Europe after being spotted at girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour performance in Paris on Sunday

At one point during the podcast, the brothers were surprised when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell — who was also on hand for Upfronts — popped by to say hello and put Travis on the spot about his globetrotting endeavors.

“This weekend my girls were tracking Travis and dancing in Paris,” he said. “They even gave me a shot of you up there dancing. It was pretty good.”

He then asked whether Travis had any plans to return stateside soon.

“I’m gonna be dancing around, yeah,” Travis admitted. “I’m all over the world this offseason.”

He continued, “It’s like the yin to my yang, you know. Football, it keeps me locked in to Kansas City during the season and you know I just gotta fly around and have some fun in the offseason.”

Travis has also been busy with a full slate of his own projects during the NFL offseason, including signing a record-breaking contract extension with the Chiefs, hosing Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and testing his acting chops in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie

As for Jason, he’ll make his Monday Night Football debut in San Francisco this fall when the 49ers face off against the New York Jets.

“I’m excited,” he said on New Heights.
