‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Trailer: Tom Hardy Is Back as Everyone’s Favorite Symbiote

Written by on June 3, 2024

Venom is back for more in Venom: The Last Dance, the third and final installment in the Sony-Marvel franchise that stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and the titular carnivorous symbiote.

Kelly Marcel, who has written all three Venom films, makes her directorial debut with The Last Dance, which is also set to star Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor in unknown roles.

According to the film’s official synopsis, “Eddie and Venom are both on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”

The cast also includes Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Marcel, Hardy and Hutch Parker.

Prior to the release of Let There Be Carnage in 2021, Hardy opened up to ET about Eddie and Venom’s “odd couple” dynamic.

“I like to see Eddie Brock as a professional coward,” he shared. “Sort of a vain, lazy, narcissistic everyman in many ways… I think he’s a noble soul, but I just think he’s come to a certain path when Venom appears. And it’s horrendous.”

“There’s an element of existential crisis where he’s nothing without him, and he’s really nothing very much to speak of with him,” Hardy continued. “But the two of them together make this wonderful argument, this conundrum, this paradox. You have this primal beast who says we should do absolutely anything we want, because we can. And it doesn’t matter about consequences because it’s insignificant, which is like the greatest therapy you could ever have, except, you know, it means running around biting people’s heads off and ripping buildings apart.”

Venom: Let There Be Carnage ended with Venom telling Eddie about the symbiotes’ knowledge of other universes, and then they were mysteriously transported somewhere else, where they are watching the MCU’s J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) reveal the identity of Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Venom: The Last Dance crawls into theaters Oct. 25.
