Shania Twain Reacts After Accidentally Singing Into a Drumstick Instead of Microphone

Shania Twain had a hilarious microphone mishap!

On Sunday, the 58-year-old singer took to Instagram to share a clip of herself attempting to sing into a drumstick-like prop instead of a microphone during a performance of “(If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here!” at her Las Vegas residency.

“I’m really glad somebody captured this moment, it’s made me laugh all over again 😂,” Twain captioned her post, crediting the video to @iambzt.

In the clip, Twain holds a mic in one hand and a long stick in the other, mistakenly pulling the prop to her face mid-song and attempting to belt into it. But she’s a good sport about the microphone mixup. A wide-eyed Twain quickly corrects her error and laughs onstage, shrieking, “Oh my god! That was hilarious!”

Twain, whose Queen of Me tour crew experienced a “very scary” tour bus crash in Canada in November that left 13 people injured, announced her third Las Vegas residency in August, entitled “Shania Twain: COME ON OVER – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!” The residency kicked off May 10 at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and is expected to run through December.

Last month, Twain spoke with ET about her Las Vegas residency.

“Awesome,” Twain said of her opening night. “I had so much fun. I was having a party.”

She said that the new residency is “liberating” for her.

“It’s so liberating,” Twain continued with a smile. “It’s so liberating to accept where you are and not always constantly feel like you have to change something in order to feel confident. So I really do focus only on things that I can change. That’s liberating.”
