Blake Shelton Announces New Las Vegas Residency
Written by Rtradio on August 8, 2024
Blake Shelton is taking his show to Las Vegas! On Thursday, LiveNation announced that the country music star is launching a mini-residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace next year, with six performances scheduled from Feb. 5 to Feb. 15, 2025.
“We’ve been talking about a Vegas residency for a few years, and all the pieces just came together for a run next year,” Shelton, 47, said in a statement. “The Colosseum is such an iconic venue, and I’m excited to bring some honky-tonk neon to the Palace.”
Shelton announced the news on his Instagram by sharing the residency poster. “I’ve been so excited to share this news with y’all.. VEGAS!!!!!” he captioned the post.
Shelton is a familiar sight in Las Vegas thanks to having opened his sixth and largest Ole Red location there in April.
The singer kicked off a week of grand opening celebrations with a private concert, where he was joined by his wife Gwen Stefani.
“I know Las Vegas has been a big destination for cowboys, but not until tonight has there been a destination for absolute hillbillies,” Shelton told the crowd while onstage at the restaurant and music venue, “and now we got it!”
Shelton performed several of his biggest hits, and was joined onstage by Stefani to sing their hit duet, “Nobody But You.”
Shelton tells People that the idea of kicking off a residency has been “swirling for years now.”
“Ever since the idea was first floated about opening an Ole Red in Las Vegas, this conversation has been happening too,” he adds.
“If you’re going to have a stake in Las Vegas, you got to do a residency also if you’re an artist,” Shelton quips. “I’ve just been kicking the can down the road because I wanted the Ole Red to be open before I did it. While I’m there doing the residency, I may end up over at Ole Red jumping on that stage one night!”
While Shelton hasn’t shared any details on what fans can expect during the shows, there’s a lot to anticipate considering the singer’s extensive discography.
Earlier this summer, Shelton released a new single with Post Malone, “Somebody Pour Me A Drink,” which they began teasing at the end of May.
At the time, Post Malone shared a snippet of the song and a video on Instagram, in which he jams out while listening to it. “Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke,” Malone and Shelton could be heard singing together.
In June, the pair took the stage at Nissan Stadium for a surprise CMA Fest appearance while Stefani cheered them on in the audience.
Shelton and Malone then delivered their single together at Spotify House — which is located at Shelton’s bar, Ole Red — as Stefani watched on from the wings.
Tickets for Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas will go on sale to the public Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. PT. Shelton’s dedicated fans will have access to a presale beginning Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. PT.
