Kate Middleton Sends Personal Message to Andy Murray Amid His Final Wimbledon Appearance

Kate Middleton is sending her love to one of tennis’ great players!
On Saturday, the Princess of Wales penned a sweet tribute celebrating the career of Andy Murray, as he played his final Wimbledon ahead of his announced retirement.
“An incredible #Wimbledon career comes to an end. You should be so very proud @andy_murray. On behalf of all of us, thank you! C,” the personal message from Kate, 42, read across her shared social media platforms.
The message came as Murray, 37, had to withdraw from the mixed doubles match on Saturday, after his partner Emma Raducanu suffered wrist soreness. Prior, Murray’s career at Wimbledon began to come to a heartbreaking close on Thursday, as he and his brother Jamie Murray were defeated by Australia’s Rinky Hijikata and John Peers in the men’s mixed doubles.
During his career, Murray won Wimbledon’s men titles in 2013 and 2016.
Kate — who has been a regular fixture at the annual Grand Slam tournament — was not in attendance, as she has scaled back her royal duties and public outings amid her cancer diagnosis. Kate’s last appearance at Wimbledon came in 2023, when she attended with her husband, Prince William, and their children Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
The royal — who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club — presented Novak Djokovic with the trophy after he took home the win in the men’s singles.
In Kate’s absence, her parents Carole and Michael Middleton made an appearance. On Thursday, the pair took their seats in the prestigious royal box on Center Court inside the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. While the competition is not over, Debbie Jevans, chair of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, expressed cautious optimism about the princess’ potential attendance.
“We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority,” Jevans told Telegraph Sport on Thursday. “We don’t know what we don’t know. All we’ve said is that we’ll work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible.”
Kate’s last public appearance, and first of 2024, came in June when she joined the royal family during the Trooping the Colour ceremony. The princess was noticeably absent last month when William, George and Charlotte, attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London.
