Kathy and Nicky Hilton React to Paris and Nicole Richie’s ‘Simple Life’ Reunion Show (Exclusive)

Kathy and Nicky Hilton are giving their full stamp of approval to Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie‘s upcoming Simple Life revival show.
The mother-daughter duo weighed in on the longtime best friends reuniting for a new reality series while promoting their joint collection with Ruggable with ET’s Brice Sander.
“I think it’s wonderful. I mean, I think it’s great. It was the funniest duo,” gushes Kathy about Paris and Nicole’s TV comeback. “I was totally against it [initially] and I look back and I look at these episodes they have on the Paris 2000s and I am in tears.”
The Hilton matriarch, 65, fondly recalled some of the iconic show’s most memorable bits, adding, “A lot of those little things are mine.”
The Simple Life — which ran for five seasons from 2003 to 2007 — followed Paris and Nicole as they tried to do different blue-collar jobs and worked on a farm, as waitresses, and numerous other tasks they were unfamiliar with.
When asked if she had any FOMO about not being part of The Simple Life, Nicky, 40, definitively states, “No, they were so perfect and that was just never my thing.”
She vividly remembered when Fox initially pitched the fish-out-of-water reality concept to her and Paris. “I remember when Fox came to the two of us and said we’re gonna take you guys and put you on a farm and take away your cell phones and your money and I was like that doesn’t really sound that appealing,” Nicky laughs.
“Busy designing and designing bags,” Kathy chimed in about Nicky’s focus at the time.
However, both Hiltons agreed the show’s central pairing was iconic. “But they were great. The best,” Nicky says of Paris and Nicole.
Kathy adds, “I think it’s going to be hysterical to see the two of them back together in action. In their hearts, they’re still when get together, they’re still two children.”
The upcoming Simple Life reunion series was announced last month with a cheeky video of Paris and Nicole gleefully singing their signature “Sanasa” catchphrase before revealing “New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock.”
While delighting in their famous family members’ reality TV return, Kathy and Nicky also discussed their new Ruggable collection, revealing they were drawn to the machine-washable rug company because it aligned with their love of “tabletop home and decor,” which Kathy adds she was “blown away” by the product.
Paris and Nicole’s new show is expected to premiere later this year on Peacock.
